We have many different freeform and
calibrated solid opal cabochons listed on this page and our other cabochon pages.
Opal cabochons are not easy to photograph. It is especially difficult to photograph
the light colored ones and show the colors properly. We make every
effort to show the cabs as accurately as possible and further, to describe what we see
looking at them as accurately as possible. We measure all cabochons at the widest,
longest and thickest points. If you have questions about any one of them, we will
be happy to describe it further or send additional photographs of any particular
stone. If you do not find exactly what you are looking for, we will be happy to find
or cut one just for you. Just send us an email and we will be happy to help.

gray Lightning Ridge cabochon which directionally displays a bright multi-color display of
colors. A great ring size that will fire off intermittently in response to the
movement of the hand. If you have not read our Directional
Play of Color Page this would be a great time to do so. We have shown in the
photos that the fire does not look the same from all angles all of the time and that is
what you are dealing with, but when it does fire the colors are great.

famous mines of Lightning Ridge. The base is gray and is translucent. This
means that the opal base looks gray looking at the stone and if you hold it up to a bright
light the light passes through the stone and makes the stone look like a honey
color. The opal shows a lot of bright magenta red, blue , green and yellow
fire. The stone measures 11.01 mm x 9.99 mm x 10.41 mm x 7.0 mm and is 2.85 mm
thick.
