PEARL OR BEAD STRINGING
WE ALSO HAND KNOT AND STRING PEARLS OR OTHER BEADS. WE CAN
SELL YOU PEARLS IN ANY PRICE RANGE OR WE CAN RESTRING YOURS.
To give you an idea of some of the types of things that we can
create we have added some recent custom creations. We got behind with our photo
taking during the rush around Christmas, but we will try and keep up now that things have
calmed down.
This beautiful 14K white gold ring
with a 14K yellow gold bezel is a variation of one of our Artifact rings.
This particular ring would fall into the category with our Amulet and
Talisman jewelry line. The peridot is a birthstone and the carnelian
and sapphire have other significance for the owner. The bright finish
gives the ring a contemporary look and feel.

Our customer had a great idea for her imitation opals. She wanted
them strung as a 22" inch strand and an 8" bracelet. The two pieces will
link together when she likes to create a 30" strand. There is a lot of
versitility in this concept. We love these colorful beads. Here they are
individually knotted on silk with 14K gold clasps. Beautiful!

This large triplet (16mm x 12 mm) made a beautiful pendant in
sterling silver.

The sterling silver ring is a prototype for a platinum ring to follow.
When considering expensive materials this interim step may be worth while to try
out the design.

Symphony
A grand piano with a golden keyboard is the perfect accessory for one
of our musically talented customers.

Doc cut and set this Gilson created opal into one of our manufactured
14K gold filigree rings. You could have one of these too.

Fit for a King
The 14K gold ring below is a cast ring set with an inlaid Gilson
created opal. The opal shows different brilliant colors depending on the angle of
view. It just does not get any better than this.

The sterling silver cast ring below was the prototype for the 14K gold
ring above. The sterling silver ring is set with Gilson created opal chips inlaid
into the ring.

A beautiful wedding ring created in platinum from our antique filigree
casters. The ring is set with 4 small diamonds and a beautiful blue star sapphire.
We have many choices in these antique filigree styles.

The Rainbow Ring
This beautiful Cantera Opal cabochon encapsulated a rainbow in a pocket
of opal surrounded by rhyolite matrix. The cabochon was mounted in a simple bezel
setting, a true classic.

A visit to Ancient Mexico
The designs for the jewelry pieces below were fabricated
incorporating ancient Mexican designs. The jewelry pieces were created using
sterling silver and shakudo and Cantera opals.

A strand of our white imitation opal beads individually hand knotted
with a white gold fish hook clasp. They look great against light colors, dark colors
or against your skin. You can have a strand too. Call or email to inquire.

A new cast ring using our "Crinkle" texture. This one
was cast in sterling silver and uses a fire agate. We could create this texture for
you on a cast ring with the stone of your choice.

Caesar's Envy
This creation is our adaptation of a Southwest style of ring for a man.
The ring was created using patinated sterling silver and 14K gold with a large
simulated opal.

Shades of '57
We generally do not do commercials on this site, but in this case we
will make an exception. This is a sterling silver creation with a Chatham emerald.

The Atlantis Ring
We love to make these rings that appear to be quite ancient. This
one was created using sterling silver 23K yellow gold, 14K yellow gold, and 14K pink gold
with an opal cabochon. Lots of fun!

The ring below is another one of our Artifact Rings. Designed to
appear centuries old. The stones are amulets for the owner. We hope that the
ring brings her extraordinary good luck. 14K gold, jasper, bloodstone and diamond.

This beautiful coin pearl necklace is more of an assembled piece from
manufactured parts than a custom piece. We did not make the 14K gold chain, or the 14K
gold filigree bail or the pearl, but we did put them all together for this beautiful
piece. A custom bail could be created for a similar necklace, or you could have one
just like this one.

A custom pair of unicorn earrings created in 14K white and yellow gold
with diamonds in the horn and a sapphire for the eye.

A custom jewelry stud created in 14K gold and set with Gilson crystal
opal chip inlay.

A custom pendant created in 14K gold with a beautiful black opal.

A custom pendant created with reticulated sterling silver and a
14K gold bezel with a unique and colorful opal.

A 14K gold manufactured setting set with one of our gem quality
triplets.

A 14K gold ring set with one of our gem quality triplets.

This is a beautiful 14K white gold filigree ring set with a black opal.
There are many styles of these rings available. The rings are cast from
antique settings by a manufacturer and are available in 14K gold, 18K gold or platinum.
Any stone can be set into one of the rings. In the case of opals, we
cut the opals to fit the setting which is actually designed for faceted stones. The
result, as you can see, is stunning.

A new creation made from a variety of materials including Shakudo, 14K
gold, fine silver, sterling silver, Precious Metal Clay, titanium, Yowah, two opal, star
sapphire, amethyst, peridot, aquamarine, and apatite. The entire collection of
pieces was hand fabricated and each has great significance to the owner. If I told
you how much fun it was to create this piece, no one would pay me to make jewelry any
more.

The 18K yellow gold ring below was a lot of fun to create. The
ring itself was designed to look ancient. To be used as an engagement ring,
the black opal and freeform aquamarines on each side represent the birthstones of the
couple. A view of the texturing added to the shank prior to finishing gives
some idea of the details that comprise the finished ring.

We have a customer who shares my love of filigree and gold and quartz.
We created this ring and earring set to go with a pendant that she already had.
These findings are manufactured cast items. The gold and quartz cabochons
came from the miner. We just put the two of them together. The earrings have
filigree work in the sides which is really not visible in the photo.

Here is a pair of the same earring findings featuring a pair of
pale yellow Mexican Opals.

A new version of one of our sterling silver rings with a gold
bezel and a stunning opal. We put a matte finish on the ring and left the bezel with
a bright finish, a very sophisticated look. The shank of the ring is from low dome
wire instead of flat wire.

A laboratory grown Star Sapphire makes a beautiful ring.
Of course, the real ones do too. We have a ring with a laboratory grown star ruby on
the top of our rings page.

A beautiful diamond and opal ring in 14K gold.

A simple ring created using one of our 6 mm triplets.

This ring was created using one of our Brazilian crystal opals
and reticulated sterling silver.

We live about an hour away from the turquoise mine at Cripple
Creek, Colorado. We made this pendant for a local resident who wanted to have a
piece of turquoise from that mine to wear.
These are two views of a dichroic glass ring that we just made.

Confetti Ring
The Confetti Boulder that was originally cut by Jack made a
handsome ring for one of our customers. Doc had to recut the opal for the ring
design, but the small piece that was sawed off will make another small ring perhaps.
Perhaps you remember the Confetti cabochon being listed on our Boulder Opal page.

Filigree ring with custom cut black opal in white 14K gold.
The filigree rings are cast for us by a company and are from
antique filigree rings, not of our design. We custom cut opals to fit the rings and
set the stones.
A recent addition to our gallery of finished custom jewelry is
a pear shaped opal ring. The second one that we have done recently.

Opal drop earrings were recently completed. The dangling
opals look great flashing color in response to the light.

The ring below is an excellent example of the results of blackening the
area below a crystal opal in a setting.

These are photo of the opal in the ring above taken while the stone was
loose. The photo on the left was taken on my desktop to simulate a dark background,
the photo on the right was taken on a white piece of paper. In the ring, the area
below the cabochon was painted black. It makes quite a difference. There are
several of these crystal opals from gem quality to inexpensive smaller Mexican opal on
this web site for sale. The Lightning Ridge honey opals are also dramatically
enhanced when set over a black background.

This is a somewhat different treatment for setting a pear cabochon.
We wanted the elegant prong look, but needed the backing in order to darken the
area below the cabochon. We were pleased with the result.

A new addition to our custom jewelry gallery created for a delightful
customer. This beautiful ring was hand fabricated in 14K yellow gold and uses one of
our black opals.

Go to the Liz's Jewelry Bench Page to see this
ring being fabricated.
The ring below was fashioned in sterling silver and featured one of our
triplets. Click on the image to enlarge it and get a good look.

Infinity in 14K gold

Filigree ring with rubies and custom cut opal in 14K white gold.

The filigree rings are cast for us by a company and are from
antique filigree rings, not of our design. We custom cut opals to fit the rings and
set the stones.
Perhaps you will remember this Boulder Opal from the Boulder Cabochon
listings. It looks great is 14K gold!

This is a reticulated set made with Boulder Opals

Brazilian Opals set in 14K white gold

Small Mexican Fire Opals set in 14K yellow gold.

This is a photo of a ring we recently inlaid for a customer. The
ring itself is a purchased item, Doc just added the opal inlay.

This is a sterling silver ring that we recently created for a
customer's wife's birthday. (It was a surprise for her. Isn't he a great
guy!) We used one of the doublets from our stock to create the ring in sterling
silver.

These rings were created in yellow and white gold with inlaid opal as
the center of the ring on left and as side stones on the ring on the right. The ring
on the right has a garnet in the center and there are side stones in garnet in the ring on
the left.

Here is a set of wedding rings for a couple who wanted something
different, but relatively simple. The rings were created in white gold with white
gold wire twisted with rose gold wire. The his and hers rings are different widths.
We think that sometimes less is more.
Three Wire Ring Shank with Mexican Opal in 14K Gold

Amethyst, reticulation silver, 18K gold.

This is an 8 mm amethyst cabochon. The band is reticulated
reticulation silver. The bezel, surrounding the stone is 18K gold. We
can make this ring wider, narrower, out of a different metal, with a different stone, etc.
For instance look at the ring below.
Rainbow moonstone, 18K Gold.

This is a 5 mm Rainbow Moonstone. The band is polished 18K gold
as is the bezel surrounding the stone.
Another variation of the amethyst ring might look like the ring below.
Amethyst, rhodolite garnets, 18K gold and reticulation silver.

Another variation might incorporation some of the design items found in
the ring below.
Red star sapphire (laboratory grown), 18K gold decorations and bezel,
reticulated reticulation silver.

The band in this ring is widened at the top, the bezel is raised and
little triangle of gold are added to the sides of the shank for decoration. Or maybe
you like wide bands with faceted stones like the ring below.
Blue topaz, sterling silver and reticulation silver.

Dichroic glass, sterling silver.

Thin shanks are possible. This one supports one of our custom
dichroic glass cabochons with a sterling silver bezel and shank.
Sterling Silver

Multiwire shanks of silver or gold or possible.
Obviously, we could go on and on. And we have just started
talking the subject of rings.
This is a recent pendant project for a bride and groom. The
pierced area form the Chinese character for forever.

The pendant below is made from a triplet that we made from Oregon Opal.
The blue coloration comes from the clear hyalite opal. There is a black background
under the opal material to make the color stand out and a clear quartz cap above it to
protect it.

This an enamel depicting an aspen grove.
Blue Chalcedony, tanzanite, enamel, fine silver, sterling silver.

We can do a custom enamel depicting something that you love.
Either in a free form design as above or in a more "fixed" design as seen below.
Enamels, fine silver, sterling silver.

This is an abstract design with the feel of the tropics. Last
year we did a bird of paradise design for a customer who collects things depicting bird of
paradise flowers.
