Some of the things to consider are: How many stones do you want?What shape do you want?If you are a designer or a custom art jeweler and want to send us a sketch, that is great.Calibrated or freeform? Calibrated stones are designed to fit manufactured settings. Freeform stones require a custom made setting.What base color do you want the stone(s) to be? Black, dark, light, crystal? Boulder? Yowah? Some other lapidary material?How much fire in what colors? Multicolors, reds, blues, greens?Is fire pattern important to you? Opal fire colors can take many different patterns. Most frequently occurring are pin fire which is little dots of color and broadflash which is smears of color of varying sizes.Do you want some material besides opal? We have lots of other things in stock and can get almost anything that you might want. Just ask.Can you set the stone yourself or would you like help in that area too? We can take care of your project from design though completion. Any work that we cannot do in house is contracted with reputable custom jewelers, i.e. platinum casting.Approximately how much money do you have budgeted for this stone(s).We have a list of cutters willing to cut custom stones for our customers. If we do not have time to take on your project, we can probably find someone who will. We also have faceters on our list and can provide custom faceted stones.
