All of our measurements are always taken at the longest, widest and thickest points. Framed images can be enlarged by clicking on them. We always have lots of Boulders around and can cut or acquire more so if you do not find exactly what you are looking for be sure and contact us.

Large and Subtle Boulder Opal Cabochon is a great Boulder piece for someone who wants an earthy understated look. The enlarged photo on the right above gives a really good idea of what the cabochon actually looks like. There is a subtle blue/purple glow to parts of the opal covering that otherwise shows natural colors in tones of grays, tans and browns.

One of these lines is non directional and the second sparkles from various directions in response to light. There is a slight dip on part of surface of the cabochon, but it should not present a problem for setting the opal.

The color is fairly accurate in the photo above that explains that there is no pink in the actual cabochon. There is not any pink, but the blues are even richer than they appear to be in that photo and more toward the purple. This is a great cabochon for a pendant or brooch.
